How will this programme benefit me?

The University of Melbourne on-campus study enables you to combine the benefits of online education with the added advantage of studying with Australia-based students to engage in on-campus education. The on-campus study option provides you with a blended learning experience where you are able to benefit from the best of both online education offered by U21Global and on-campus education offered by one of our U21 affiliate universities.

Will my degree be awarded by both universities?

You will receive two separate certificates. The Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems from the University of Melbourne will be awarded upon successful completion of the on-campus study option. The Master of Management in Information Technology from U21Global will be awarded upon successful completion of the full MMIT programme.

Programme Details

How long does it take to complete the University of Melbourne On-Campus Study Option?

You will need to take four subjects at the University of Melbourne to complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems. On average, you should be able to meet the course requirements within one semester (approximately 14 weeks).

Will this Option give me an advantage in my U21Global MMIT programme?

The subjects taken at the University of Melbourne are fully credited towards the U21Global MMIT programme. Hence, instead of taking 12 subjects at U21Global, you will need to take eight subjects, after taking into account the four subjects completed at the University of Melbourne.

Do I have a choice of what subjects I can take at the University of Melbourne?

Yes, you can choose the subjects that you want to take, as long as they are part of the offering under the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems programme at the University of Melbourne and do not overlap with the subjects you have already taken and/or intend to take at U21Global.

Is there any cost for taking this option?

Yes, students who choose the Exchange Option will have to bear the tuition fee at the University of Melbourne for the four subjects, as well as all travel, accommodation and living costs. However, you will enjoy a reduced fee for the MMIT programme at U21Global, based on the reduced number of subjects you take at U21Global.

Will the subjects taken at the University of Melbourne be included in the overall GPA calculation?

No, only U21Global subjects will be included in the student's GPA calculation for the MMIT programme. Note that you will need to meet the University of Melbourne 's own requirements for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems from the University of Melbourne.

Learning Experience

Are the University of Melbourne subjects conducted online?

No, the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems at the University of Melbourne is a one-semester programme where you will be studying full-time, on location at the University of Melbourne.

Who are my classmates at the University of Melbourne?

Your classmates will consist of students from the University of Melbourne. The students at the University of Melbourne are a mix of both local and international students, which provide ample opportunities for you to learn more about different cultures and experiences.

Admission Criteria

Do I qualify for automatic admission into the University of Melbourne programme when I am admitted into the U21Global MMIT programme?

No, you will need to submit a separate application to the University of Melbourne and will be admitted only if you meet the criteria set by the university. However, we expect most successful applicants for U21Global's MMIT programme will also meet the requirements set by the University of Melbourne.

As a current MBA student, can I enrol for this programme?

At this moment, the option is available only to MMIT students.
