PATA Foundation Supports Scholarship Program to Help Advance Women Executives in the Travel and Tourism Industry
Invites members across Asia/Pacific, South Asia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and UAE to nominate their women executives
Singapore, 12 June 2009 - The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Foundation today announced its support for the U21Global-MasterCard scholarship program for women in the travel and tourism industry. The non-profit foundation called on companies in the industry to act promptly and take advantage of the opportunity to offer their women executives the chance to equip themselves with the latest in training and knowledge. The last date for nominating candidates for the annual scholarship program is 30 June.
"We are excited to be supporting this scholarship program and will work with U21Global and MasterCard to further maximize its reach. Programs such as these are a great support to the industry, particularly during the current economic climate, and help address an important issue the industry is facing ? that of developing a skilled workforce who will bring back their knowledge and expertise to the business"," said Terry Francis, Chairman, PATA Foundation.
